The Blue Earth Summit this month was full of hope, honesty and human stories from the people and products making a difference to tackle climate change. Our key takeaways include:
- Finance is accelerating change – the BE100 competition showed that capital is catching up with climate logic, investing in scalable solutions that will deliver financial returns and climate-focused outcomes. Check out the winners here, which include Low Carbon Materials ( who are creating next-gen low-carbon materials to decarbonise construction at scale.
- Sustainable ideas are building momentum – there were 100s of innovative products and tech on display from the Crown Estates 'Virtual Meadow' hoarding to paper made from seaweed and new tech that can test water quality in minutes not weeks. We were blown away by the range of ideas out there.
- The power of showing up – the wide range of people, connections and new ideas growing from the conversations showed the simple power of showing up. Good people, doing good things make a real difference.
- Keep changing, keep growing – finally the team at Reasons to be Cheerful hosted a number of panel sessions on the themes of Hope and Growth which filled us with a warm glow and gentle reminder to keep finding the light.
We'll definitely be back next year for more climate inspiration and good times.
