Our October ‘Bid Break’ invitation is all about Forest Bathing
Bidding can be relentless, don’t forget a five-minute break can make all the difference.
This month with the amazing autumn colours all around, we are looking at forest bathing. The practice of Shinrin-yoku originated in Japan in the 1980s as a public-health response to workplace stress. It’s simply about spending time connecting with nature and the more-than-human world, studies show that just a few minutes in natural surroundings can lower cortisol, reduce blood pressure, and improve concentration and mood.
You don’t need a forest — just five quiet minutes to step outside or look out of a window. Take time to simply watch, notice what’s in motion and allow your mind and body to relax.
If you aren’t near a window or can’t get outside, try the YouTube video above and take a simple 5-minute forest break.
