Beyond bids – what’s inspiring us
This month we’ve been thinking about morning routines.
Some of our team have been fully fledged members of the 5am Club for a few years now. Inspired by Robin Sharma’s self-help book they’ve been getting up early and following the “20/20/20 Formula,” spending the first hour of the day with three 20-minute sessions covering exercise, reflection (journaling/meditation), and learning.
Not all of us are early birds, but there is inspiration everywhere when it comes to morning routines.
-
Arianna Huffington starts her day with no social media and no alarm clock
-
Steve Jobs swore by a key simple question every morning “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today? If the answer is ‘no’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”
-
Andrew Huberman gets set up for an optimal day with 10 minutes morning sunlight to dose up on Vitamin D, drinking a glass of water, holding off on the caffeine, then some movement followed by a focused distraction free work block.
-
Winston Churchill is said to have loved a cigar and whiskey first thing in the morning!
Whatever your morning routine, as the 5am club book says ‘own your morning’ and ‘do what fits you best and feels right to you’.
